'WE' are talked about in the Car and Driver New Car review.

The article on the new Max talks about it's design, the cabin space, the amazing VQ, and 'US'. At the end of the article, it says, "Nissan's 2004 Maxima is the sixth-generation sedan to carry that nameplate, and the company is confident that it will satisfy an extremely loyal owner group, many of whom have owned four or five Maximas." IT'S US THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT...WE ARE THE LOYAL ONES! GO MAX GO

As much as I love my 4th Gen, and although I dumped lots of money into it. . . .when it goes, its going to be replaced with something different. I find fun in change, expecially with cars.

There's nothing wrong with that. We've kicked around "which is the best Max" and I think there is valid argument to say 3rd gen, 4th gen, maybe even 5th gen, but 6th--1st--2nd really wouldn't make a whole lot of sense.

If a person accepts the fact that a 260 hp + motor can be mated to a FWD car, which many of us believe is not efficient use of the powerplant, but if one accepts that, how would a new Acura TL not be a better choice than a 6th gen? Are we gonna get into this "looks doesn't matter" thing like we did when the 2k's came out?

Be loyal to the $2000 rebates that are going on right now for the umpteenth time, on Pathfinder, and $1500 on XTerra. There is NO Nissan product that survives its entire lifespan without needing a rebate to move off the lot. That guarantees the poor resale and relatively high per-mile operating costs.

Maxima definately wont be my next choice. when mine takes a crap, Im going with a fullsized chevy pickup on bags, or a grand prix gtp. (im 17, so my budget is a big thing.)

6th gen is UGLY. When my 5th gen is paid off in 3-4 years, hopefully by then they will have gotten their act together and put together a good-looking 7th gen. If not, I will go back to where I came from - Acura - as I'm sure the TL or CL will look good like they always do!

I wouldn't buy a 6th gen either. Just too big. I'll probably move up to a G35 coupe
