I have the solution...

All that time and effort to fabricate a piece is going to be costly to the potential clients (the members of maxima.org). However, I have a cheaper, easier, better looking solution to the inner clear problem. Buy a set of clear inner circle IS300 lexus lights and have them put in, in place of the inner tail pieces at a local body shop. The lights will run you 20 bucks, and the install should run you no more than $175. I'll have pics up this weekend. The setup looks hot. If you have an extra $200 bucks, it's a very unique custom install.

you know to do this your going to have to have the body shop custom build the trunk for the IS300 inner lights to fit.. thus putting more fiberglass on the trunk and paint and labor.. now if you can get all that for cheap.. more power to you...

How was no fiberglass used? Did they just bondo it instead? How else would they fill the gap? Just curious because I was looking into getting my inner taillights shaved, which is similar to what you did, and they wanted a whole lot more than $175 for labor. The Lexus lights are a lot smaller than the Max inner lights, so how did they fill it?

Apparently i wasn't too clear in my initial post. I have aleady had this done to my car. It costed me 175 for the entire operation. It looks perfect and no fiberglass was used.

Don't you still need the reverse lights?
The reverse lights are on the inner pieces. Anyway, to repaint the whole trunk and they body work would run you aleast $500 unless you live in cali where everthing is cheaper.
