anyone with VQ35DE experience belt squeal?
I get a belt squeal after driving the car sometimes. Car has 8400 miles on it currently. It started off as showing up once in a blue moon. Now it is pretty consistently there. Do you recommend I tighten the belt or is this bad on the pulleys. Anyone experience belt squeal/pulley noise on stock pulleys? Rather take care of this myself than have dealer do it

I did this past winter, but it was just at startup and very minor, and it is now gone. Most likely it was due to the weather. Whatever you do, don't spray any belt dressing on it. That stuff is crap and just a temporary solution. You have very low miles in your car so the belt is probably ok. It may just need to be adjusted a bit.

yep, just happened to me yesterday for the first time, i have 12k miles on mine, it only happend for 2 seconds, and it was after i went thought a huge puddle going 30. ( i didn't see it.) other then that it has been fine.
but i have heard something that belt squeal is common unfortunetly. what year car do you have? you may find more help if you post in a generation specific form. also, you should not need tightening of the belts since it is so new, but just check them out and see how tight they are. (by pressing them with your fingers.)

Dealer told me drive belts aren't covered under 36k warranty. He gave me a price of $120. They are however covered under some 12,000 mile warranty, or so he said. So for you guys with few miles, make the best of it and get it fixed for free.
