The best thing to do is stick with OEM pads. Nothing even comes close to them.

I would say go with Axxis Metal Masters they are around $50 and are carried at alot of parts stores now. VERY good pad for daily driving.

I'd stick with OEM. Just get what you know works well with your Maxima.

I dont know, I think Hawk is more for track use. I had a set that didnt last that long at all. They wore out in half the time of any other pad I have used.

Hawk HPS pads are for street use, good up too 800+ deg, which is good if you like to beat the **** out of your brakes every once in a while. They do dust, but thats the trade off for good stopping power. I use Hawk HP+ for track days.

True that--with internet discounts you can get OEM cheaper than premium aftermarket pads from the auto parts stores.

The main thing is that with OEM, you take the brakes apart once and never have to do it again. Even without shims or the hardware kit, I've never had a squeal front or back, and they are kind to the rotors as well. I'm at 92k and never replaced rotors--zero pulsation. I'm a true believer in the OEM in this dept.

Right now I need new pads aswell, but since I've had 300zx calipers waiting since I bought the car, soon I'll get new wheels/tires so I can just use those. When it comes time to replace those pads, I'll probably just get some lifetime warrenty OEM ones

Axxis/PBR are working great on the Max for me. At first there was a squeeling noise, but now they're very quiet and stop well too.
