Im thinking of getting Konig Tantrums for my 96 Max, but im not sure if i should get 17's or 18's. Around where I live there are barely ne potholes, but once i get into the city there are tons.

well, if cost is of no concern then i say get the 18's. they look the best. but, 17's look just as good in my opinion and the rubber isn't nearly as expensive, especially if you are going to run sticky tires that will need to be replaced often.

Yeah, 18" tire prices have dropped a lot too... The Kumhos I have ran about $150 installed each...

Unless you hit a huge pothole or curb... you probably won't bend an 18" if you have at least a 235/40...

What about Konig Verdict? I like those better than Tantrums.

17x8 or 18x7.5

I'm considering both the Tantrum and the TSW Revo. The Tantrum is about 3 pounds lighter per wheel than the Revo.

Is there any handling difference in a 8" wide wheel as opposed to 7.5"?

Re: 17x8 or 18x7.5

You are suppose to mount 235 tire on 8" or wider rim. I had 235 on 7.5" and didn't have any problems. The tires just bulge out alittle. Some people are ok with that look and some people are not. You can get Revo in 18X8. I believe konig's new wheels come in 18X8.
