i am using mobil 1 also with Nissan OEM filter.. what kind of filter are you using?

i usually pay $26 for 5 bottles and filter.. thats about $6 more than jiffylube so i figure using better oil and better filter i am pretty much paying the same...

are you sure switching back to dino the car isn't going to be still burning oil as fast? maybe something is wrong causing the car to burn oil that fast because as i said.. i usually run up to 6000 miles an oil change no problems..

nissan oil filter and mobil 1
i switched to syn oil cuz it was suppose to be the ish.
i wasnt sure on what was needed to switch to syn oil, so i just took it to jiffy lube(first time and last). nothing is wrong with my car, cuz the same thing is happening to like 5 of my friends. we all went syn oil and all hate it now. we also all have 115k+ miles on are cars. ive read many times at this forum and honda ones of syn oil burning like theres no tomorrow....

anyway..i still need some advice on how to switch..

You can switch back just by changing the oil and the filter. If you wnat to do a flush, probably not a bad idea, STP makes a good one. The problem is that if you are burning oil there is something wrong. If the car smokes when you first start it in the morning, or when you accelerate hard, then it's probably the valve guide seals. Using an engine flush, and then adding something like Marvel Mystery Oil, may clean the varnish off the valve stems so the seals work better. Burning oil can also result in the EGR and PCV valves getting coked up faster, and much greater/faster accumilation of deposits in the throttle body and intake plenum. In any case, keep a very close eye on the oil level, because running low is real bad.
