While Taking Son To School I Got Hit!

I was taking my son to school this morning I pulled out of my driveway and pulled up to the stop sign and as I was sitting there I heard brakes then I felt my car move forward. I looked back to see if my son was ok (I keep them in a car seat at all times) then I got out to see the damage she pushed my bumper in and stretched the paint and it is chipped. She got out and starting crying really bad and told me her dad had just died and she had a lot on her mind and for her to please don’t call the police. She was an older lady about 60 years old. So upon looking at the damage I made the decision to let he go I told her Ma’am don’t worry about it I’ll get it fixed so I continued on and took my son to school.

D'oh Will, hopefully she was telling the truth.
I guess it's time for a new bumper or something, glad your son is fine

wow your story is eerily similar to mine. last summer i was leaving work and while on a 4 lane road an older lady in her 60's was pulling out of a graveyard and didnt see me and smashed into my drivers side. she sent me over the curb. luckily i advoided a tree and a telephone pole. my '93 chevy lumina wasn't so lucky and it ended being totaled. turns out she had just buried her husband the day before.

what kind or car was it? It scratched the whole way down the car and inside the license plate area. If i was in your situation, i would've done the same.

ouch.... at least nobody was hurt from it. it doesnt look that bad....hopefully you can get an aftermarket back bumper.

that happened to me too. this elderly lady also friend of the family was backing out of out driveway and i was parked next to her. she got to close to the side of my car and side swiped my fender. good thing my alarm went off and she realized she hit my car. its not bad damage similar to the damage you got few scratches in the paint. i felt bad since she was retired and she couldnt really see too good at nite. i guess i can get z3 fenders out of this and have to good excuse for my mom y im replacing my fenders.

Couple weeks ago an 90 year old lady t-boned me and asked if I was sure the damage wasn't there before she hit me. She was driving a 86 cutlass and didn't even get a scratch.

This has happened to me twice before. I am glad no one was hurt. This will cost under 500 bucks. If you know someone in a shop it will be alot cheaper.

daymn... i was gonna thank you for helping me understanding the concept of hardwiring early this morning. sorrie to hear that uncle will

btw i followed ur advice and hardwired radar detector to one of the "IGN" fuse, and hardwired with neon to the ashtray light. so now my neon only lights up when i turn on my headlight the only problem i have right now is the power inverter...i think i'm gonna go for ACC under "wiper" for 20amp.

but thx anywayZ

will you dont need a new bumper, you can get that fixed in a jiffy. When something bad happens to people i..e...deaths stuff like that happens all the time. People are not in the right frame of mind.

Sorry to hear that. Good thing you guys are okay!

You're a much better man that I, I just hope she wasn't trying to get out of responsibility. Either way that was a good thing you did.

You are a nice guy. If it was me I would have made her pay unless I saw the death certificate. I do not trust anyone.
