Good point. Everyone would have numbers run in the same conditions and at the same track. Then if anyone wants to race anyone specific they could just ask to be lined up.

Like Jime says, the track is purpose-minded so use it to your advantage. Run what you brung. If you've got a slower ET than some guy because you're on street tires and he's on slicks, but you post a significantly better MPH, most of us would know you've got the more powerful car. You just choose not to run slicks. The ball is in your court. If you don't want to run slicks, gut the interior, etc that's fine, but let's not hold others back. People want to run the best as they can. If you can't afford drag tires, I'm sure a lot of guys would let you borrow the for a pass.

Concerning classes and transmission, I wouldn't worry about that too much. Once everyone has run and the day is over, I foresee things like "Quickest unlimited NA", "Quickest street tire NA", "Quickest auto NA", "Fastest MPH NA", etc.

As for limited passes at the track, that can always be a problem. I'm use to only getting 3-4 passes in a 4 hour period so it's nothing new to me. If anything, I suggest on Saturday everyone shows up to gate really early to be the first in line. Have the car already prepped for racing and cooled off then almost immediately people could get multiple passes before things get really busy. Track rental is always an option, but I'm unsure of the price, day of the week availability, and refunds for inclement weather.

As for location, I just suggested Beech Bend because someone mentioned it and it appears the area is fairly localized to a majority of the quicker guys on the Org plus it's facilities would make things cheap and possibly quite fun. I think the Indiana, Kentucky, and Tennessee area is probably our best bet.

IMO, I think September would be a good time. It's not deathly hot and it's not much of a rainy season. August is good too, but August could get pretty hot. Please suggest other locations. It's all up for debate.

I would like to have it at a location that would allow some of us time to compete in all, or most of the events. I personally would want to compete in Quickest unlimited NA, Quickest Street tire NA and Quickest power adder unlimited.

Beech Bend Raceway Park in Bowling Green, KY seems to be the best place considering where most of us are located. I tried to look over a map and come up with some other potential locations, but KY gets my vote !

Bristol Dragway/Thunder Valley
Bristol, TN

Memphis Motorsports Park
5500 Taylor Forge Dr.
Millington, TN

As I mentioned before, the GTP guys have meets in that exact spot for this very reason so it gets my vote too. However if enough Left Coast people want in on the action I wouldn't be opposed to moving the event a little further west.

And once we set the location in stone we need to get any locals to provide additional info. Renting a track out for a day would be ideal. And if need be, we could invite the GTP or CL-S crowds out to help with the cost.

We would also need a 3-4 month cushion to make sure people have enough time to make plans to attend. Just a suggestion.

Remember that HUGE west coast Nissan meet? haha Nobody came b/c of POOR PLANNING! The meet was in Vegas and I live there and i didn't go. It was b/c it just went under. All this hype and then a few weeks before the date, people were running around in circles, not knowing what they are going to do. A time and location wasn't even set. haha

So whoever does this, a track rental would be ideal. And yes, invite all the 4 doors you can to help with the cost. I bet we could get fast 4 doors to show up. Or make it a Nissan event. Well, in order to get enough people to show up, we need the Honda guys. lol

I think trying to rent out the whole track on a weekend would be really expensive, if they would even be willing to do it. The only way a track would be willing to be rented out on a day that they would usually run T&T would be if they would make the same amount of money or more. An average T&T event will bring around $4000 just in run card sales. I would think our only chance of a track rental would be on a weekday that they don't usually hold an event.

The rates vary from track to track and yes it would likely be a T&T day or some day during the week. Based on the travel time most are going to have to take a few days off work anyway so some days during the week should be no problem.

BTW I think Beech Bend is our best bet. It is centrally located for those in the midwest, great lakes, east cost, south, etc. Really the only people excluded would be those that live Colorado west. Of course anyone could come but the distance would be very prohibitive for those from like texas and colorado west. The country is just too big to include everyone, and if we move it 500 miles west to make it easier on the west coast guys, and honestly I think that we will get more people by keeping it at Beech Bend than we would gain by moving it west and losing all the east coast guys because the distance becomes too far for them.

We don't have to shut down any of their events. Test and Tune at Beech bend runs on Saturday Nights starting at like 5 or 6. If we rent the track it would be on a Saturday Morning and run until the afternoon most likely. I think the cost to rent it would just have to be to get the track crew there to run it. We don't have to balance the sales that they would be losing because they aren't normally open then.

We need to narrow it down to which month. Then we can select a date for that month.

I'm with Dave B, I vote for September.

I know it's the same month as NOPI, but the pretty boys can go to that while the real drivers head to the racing event

Umm, who cares about NOPI.

I hope your car is done by then

I would be in for September, but it would have to be a Saturday so I could leave on Fri after school and be home on Sunday.

There is an event at NOPI that I want to compete in. If you all want to make this in September that is fine, I can still do both so long as they're not the same days.

end of july or august for me ! saturday night time racing sounds sweet ,a bit cooler and Kentucky is the best spot.

looking at some of the times for the 4th gens. you know we talk about waiting in line for runs, or looking for that perfect race and we have so many right here.

best runs:
Dave B 14.4
UNCDooD 14.3
96sleeper 14.2
I30tMikeD 14.1
the chariot 14.1

these are best times im aware of, can you imagine the nose to nose, gear shifting madness that would be taking place in these match ups ? you guys know how awesome that one close race is at the track, and Maxus 2004 would be full of quite possibly the best racing any of us could have in one night !

I pick the end of August so that Ceasar can attend. Im coming no matter when it is...This will more than likely be the best meet I have attended if just the people that posted show up IMO. The more the better though

I sent an email to the track to get some information. If I don't get a response by mid week, I will give them a call and get us some more information. We need to find out a few dates that would be good for them, then we can vote to pick a date.

How many cars do you think we could expect just so I know if they ask. Surely we could get 50 people to show up? Maybe more, its hard to say. Also, Beech bend is the track where Hal runs so maybe we can get him to show up and let us see his 120mph beast.

The 60degreeV6.com people are meeting in this same place at the end of July. I might get one of those guys to chime in and give us some feedback on that. That date is kinda early for most people here but if there is a chance we could combine with them it might help both parties out. Just a thought.

Adjustable FPR @ 2.5 bar. Or.... connect a vacuum canister to the FPR so it has vacuum on it all the time. That way it'll never reach 3.0 bar and will help your situation for now.

Bowling Green is only about an hour from the Nashville area. It is actually the closest 1/4 mile track.
