Remote Start

How hard is it to install an a remote starter, my roomate wants to install it in his 01 Infiniti QX4. Thanks in advance for any help.

An 01 Infinity DEFINATLY would have some kind of factory anti-theft, I suggest having it professionally installed, I think you need a "bypass module" for the anti-theft and he might have a chip key too, that would make it VERY expensive.

If you have moderate to no alarm, electronic install experience I would NOT attempt to install yourself. It would require the by-pass module with the key with makes it more expensive. If you already have a spare key then it's not as expensive.

its not too bad. you need a transponder, remoter starter, maybe some relays, resistors, diodes.... and a wiring diagram. Oh tools are good too. Usually takes an installer 3-6 hours to do it. I used to install them, and they arent that tough really.
