If I just hollow out the stock one will it be as good as a aftermarket one. How much are aftermarket ones? I have a 92 SE.

Performance will be similar. You'll just be polluting the environment.
A carsound cat (available at Warpspeed Performance) costs about $110. An Random Technology cat I think is closer to $200.

your not going to get any more out of that then a carosund cat or even a free flow one form summit racing for about $80

Hey maxse91 - What do you know about the Summit Racing cats? I'm sure it performs fine, but what about its ability to reduce emmissions?

Thanks -
Andy

Meets EPA and CARB requirements, so in controlling emissions im sure its identical to stock but it just flows more freely, that $80 was a quote i got about 10 months ago, might have bumped price up a bit but im sure its still the cheapest

I believe only the RT and the ones available from Warpspeed are bolt-up. All others you have to spend money having flanges put on.

I have a gutted ve cat available for much cheaper but someone already has their eye on it. Do you want me to contact you if the deal doesn't go through?

well another option is hollowing out your own..........nothing that hard to do, and will save you money, thats what i did, just un-bolt the cat and punch out the "ceramic honeycomb" lookin stuff, then bolt it back on, i suggest using some kind of thread unlocker as those bolts might be a bit hard to get off

well i dont think you will have a problem, but look at it this way, hollowing it yourself will be free, if you dont like the results then you can buy one of the aftermarket ones, so you have nothing to loose just gutting it and seeing what you think.

gutted is going to flow close to as much as an aftermarket one with the exception of its emission capabilities

Thanks Your max looks sweet. How hard or expessive was it to install the side blinkers. I love those and I want to get them. What kind are they?

actually thses were given to me by one of my friends, they will run about $25 and you have to buy whatever bulb you want in them, i chose the "blue" HID look alikes, hyperwhites or whatever you wanna call em, the install can be difficult cause cutting that hole is harder then you think and you dont want it to rust, i had my brother whos a mechanic do it for me and it came out really good, they are constant on when my parking lights are on
