Prices for the rears will be released shortly, but you're going to be pleased.

Okay, finally have all 4th and 5th gens test-fitted with these and everything is a go!
I fit them on a 4th gen and a 5.0 and 5.5 gen. all of them fit. With and without ABS.

GD/intro pricing thread has been posted in the GB forum:

Matt, what is the piston size of the rear Z calipers? and the stock 4th Gen (if you know)... trying to get an idea of change in brake bias with the larger rotor too.

Thanks...

Chunger, the 4th and 5.0 gen use a single 1.337" rear piston.
rotor size is 10.94"

Z32 calipers use two 1.5" pistons.
rotor size is 11.7"

The fastbrakes kit uses pistons slightly larger than the Z32 fronts, so the bias should be slightly more forward with the fastbrakes up front and the Z32 in the back. you should be pleased with them.

My question Matt is what fabrication did you have to do to get them to fit. Some kind of spacer, or a bracket for the caliper. Im just wondering. Is it something that could be done on our own if we can get someone to machine parts that we need?

I hope you aren't asking him to hand over all the hard work he did developing the kit so you can have it made locally for less money?

Basically I was asking him to spell it out. I was just being curious. Also I was wondering if there might be someone in our area that can produce it a lower cost to help him out. So Matt sorry about that just being curious. Also I dont have to much experience with Z rear brakes so I was just trying to figure out what the deal was with the parking brake. If I wasnt so damn busy with the navy I would try to figure it out what he is talking about on my own but I dont have time. I just have time to writ ea few post and then back to work.

PS: Rich

Thanks,
Bruce

I'll put it this way. The rotor and caliper are from a Z32, but the parking brake is from a vehicle which will remain unnamed for reasons of people not copying my stuff. Several other parts are all designed by me and machined at a local shop. I then do some more welding and prep work on them before I package them in the kit.

the bracket for the caliper was the easiest part of the whole kit.

Could you make this yourself?
Not unless you have a complete CNC setup, a couple thousand bucks to throw away, and a hundred hours in prototyping and searching for all these parts and which cars they came off of.

Thats cool, sounds like you have really put a lot of work into this. Im definately going to get one. considering there are no other big rear brake upgrades. And I am looking to max out performance in all catagories on my car and braking was becoming my main concern due to the fact that no matter how much power you have you need to be able to stop it and are cars are by no means light. But a little brake upgrades make a hudge difference in you cars.

Thanks for you efforts,
Bruce
