Hey everyone, i'm in the middle of a 5spd conversion. I had bought a reman axle from autozone because my automatic passenger side boot was but wide open. Well, I started to bolt up the axle to the hub with the axle nut, i noticed that the diameter of the end shaft was smaller than the auto. The shaft can fit loosely through the original axle nut. Is there a difference in the manual and automatic axle diameter? The axle came with a different axle nut but i want to make sure i have the correct axle. length wise it looks identical to the auto one i had only difference is that diameter of the end where i need to put the axle nut on.......

Yes, I believe you need an axel for a manual tranny.

Well i did get a manual axle that i ordered from autozone, but the thing was that the axle seemed to fit perfectly fine. the only thing i saw was that the threads where the end of the shaft is, is a smaller diameter than the original auto axle. Does any info on this???
