buy a 95 SE and do the front and rear conversion to make it look like a 97-99 models.

since finding a 92-94 se in decent condition is extremely hard, I'd say go newer, just so you have the car for a while. A 5th gen would be perfect...namely the 2k2-2k3 6-spds. them thangs are real nice

I drive a 1990 GXE, and its my first car. Comfy, plenty of power for an irresponsible 17 year old, but not so much you hit the gas for a second and completely freak out because you dont know how to control it. I only wish that I had waited to find a 5 speed SE.

17yr old male, no tickets or accidents, good student discount, and i pay 75$ a month on liability. My parents decided to chip in another 30$ a month or so for comprehensive.

That would be the wise choice and save the money for something more important...college

In fourth gen '95 is best IMO. Lack of ABS is a plus for me.

Good for you Kid. I started working at 14. More power to ya.

In my view the 03 SE is by far the nicest. It has the most usable HP and franky lots of lux features. If you take care of it it will easily run for 10 years and look good the whole time. I bought mine in Jan of 04 and thus could have purchased an 04 but I like the 5th gen style much better.

Only peice of advice ... pay cash. Never buy on time payments. Always "own" what you own.

So how nice is this car really? My wife loves it so much ..... that if I give it to her, sell her car, she's going to "let me" (and you learn these things after 30 years of marrage) buy a late model Vette.
