Anyone bummed about income taxes? Man, I got all kinds of crazy capital gains on winning stock trades, but guess what? All the gains were reinvested. Plus on top of that, the mutual funds gave up some serious distributions in 2000. To make a long story short, many of us have to pay for huge gains but overall our equity is way down. Anyone else feeling the pain? Dang it may be time to take a ride in the Max with the Bose a rockin'..........

wanna hear a laugh? I made some buckage on Amazon.com in early 2000. I had to dig to see what I paid for the shares in the summer of 1998!

This max better last another year cause this poor bo' can't afford nuttin new!

I'm in the same boat, major, and a little more complicated since some of my equity is private equity. In sum: it sucks. The entire US tax code needs to be overhauled. BIGTIME.

I just found out I owe about 3K to the Feds. I think about another $400 to the state. I didn't know it was gonna be that bad. Sometimes I wonder if it's like insurance--because others fool around and do dishonest acts, everyone else pays more. And usually when you have more at stake you're not gonna cut corners. Just have to write the check and send it probably Monday, but I'm not feeling too good!

wooa

ahhh this misconceptions of insurance It's all about LOSS COSTS my friend, not what your neighbor does on a sat. night with his car to cost YOU more. Its all about how much it costs to replace something. Go yell at the body shops who typically charge 20% more than the part is worth and the same for their labor. Funny thing? They only do it to insurance companies because they got away with it for years. Now they are all being caught and fraud claims are being brought against them! To bad State Farm F'd up by trying to beat them and use generic parts they can order from a supplier in Japan....oh well...I could go on and on.
