Brief encounter with an M3
#1
I was on a raincovered Rt. 30 which is a one lane highway in Lancaster, PA. I was behind an M3 (around 1997 model year) being held up by two slower cars in front of him. We came to a spot where the road turned into a two lane hwy for about a mile or so. I dropped it into second just in case the M3 wanted to go. Sure enough, the slower cars move over, the M3 takes off with me behind and up the hill we go. He pulled about a half car initially but once I hit the upper limits of second and into third, he didn't gain anything. I think I surprised him. Then I noticed I had the air on too. Damn. Not to mention my wife. I would guess we raced from about 40-90, then I backed off. Anyway, back to one lane and were cruising for a few miles when another two lane stretch comes up. We go again. This time, he gained nothing. I know he was ready and I might have gotten a jump on him. I'd give him the nod overall but I really didn't think my car could hang, but it did. Upon inspection while driving, I would have to guess it was an auto M3. I didn't see any jerky shifts or body movement in the car, and the fact that he didn't pull on me may also indicate that. Anyway, it was a nice ending to my Easter...I always wanted an M3.

, also it could've been I was carving around the nice twisty roads, and I forgot where I ended up, but it was 2 lanes of downhill twisties along the side of a creek
