Wheel Bearing dust/grease cap help
Wheel Bearing dust/grease cap help
This is for a '99 Maxima I bought this fall, and I just put new tires on it. The guy changing the tires pointed out that the "inner hub" is missing on two wheels.
It's the 2-2.5" diameter "cap" that keeps grease in the wheel bearing area and keeps the dust/dirt out of the bearing. It fits over the threaded rod, cotter pin, and nut sticking out of the center of the brake assembly. Could anyone help out with a technical name for this cap so I can find it online (or a recommendation on where to find it)? Are there any other parts I'll need in conjunction with the cap? Also, how urgent is it to get this replaced?
Thanks, I appreciate your help.
Jacob
