Engine mounts going bad...

133k and she's starting to really fall apart. First it was dirty fuel injectors, then it was coils, then the knock sensor, then a bad wiring harness, and when I went in for an alignment, the car came out while still misaligned, and I was told the engine mounts are weakening. Eventually I'm going to have to get them replaced. I really love this car, but after over 2 grand in repairs this year alone, now I'm thinking I should move on. I might not even be able to keep this car past my graduation in '07.

If they could not fix the alighment, you prob need new control arm bushings and end link bushings like me.
Lucky for you they are farely cheap. About 40-45shipped from www.suspension.com or Cattman had a GD on them right now.

As for hte motor mounts, you can also get them from the same two places for about 70-80.

Ya know, I'd love to have some parts shipped to my house. Too bad I don't know how to work on my own car. Hate to admit it, but I didn't know how to change my own tire until around Father's Day this year. (I remember that because I was driving to my dad's work to pick him up and take him to Hooters, and I got a flat tire on the way. DOH! But now I know how to change it. ) If 70-80 is considered "cheap" for motor mounts, what would be the ballpark price at a mechanic? (hopefully I don't have to back to the stealership.)

It's better if you buy all the parts, so you know what is going in your car.

All the parts I listed are Polyurathane so they are much better than stock

So you buy hte parts and take them to a mechanic, or find some orger in your area and see if they will help you. Check hte regional forums.

no i was making fun of the parts. i meant that they are cheap as they dont cost alot. yeah your best bet would be to know what you need first, then buy the parts and have a person from the org to help you out or find a place where they can do it for cheap.

It happens with an old car, but it beats payments. 2 grand isnt much, I have spent enough to buy a new Maxima cash.
