I was just wonder how many differnt maxima's anyone has driven or owned. I have had a 92 se auto, and my 89 se 5spd, and also have driven my dads 96 se 5spd, and friends 93 gxe auto. what has everyone else driven or owned ?

I've driven two 91 Maxima SE's and my own Maxima. So that's 3 Maximas! I love the 4 wheel suspension on the 3rd generation. They feel more smooth and precise during corners. I would love to try out the 2nd and 5th generation Maximas.

I work Vallet parking once or twice a week, and I've driven a 2k GLE, 95 GLE, 95 SE 5spd, 93 SE (like mine only white) 89-91 GXE, 97 GLE, last week drove a 2k SE with a crashed front and also a 95 or 96 GXE.

I always remember the impressions from the Maxima's, out of all of them, I really loved the 95 5spd, and 2k GLE.. so smooth, quiet, powerful and comfortable. damn

I also valet cars, and I've been doing it for over a year. I probably drive atleast 3 maximas everytime I work. The 4th and 5th gen 5spd se's are probably my favorites.

First, I had a '91 se for about 2 years. I got stoned one day (back in the days) and pulled the e-brake doing about 70 in a 45 mph. zone, ran in a ditch and flipped the sucker. Then I had a '92 and some old woman hit me in the front fender and bent the frame. Now I have my baby ('95 se)

I've owned a 92 SE, and I now own a 96SE. I loved my 92. Still miss it every now and again. And I miss the independent rear. It would corner really nicely. I must have had a strong 92 when I compare it to my 96. My 96 creaks and rattles and I never had that in my 92. Bottom line give me a 96 with the underpinnings of the 3rd gen. Although my 96 is faster and hopefully when I get my Koni's and H&R's on I'll have a better opinion the handling on my 4th gen.

I've also driven an 83 or 84 can't remember Datsun Maxima, and a 2nd gen. pretty cool to trace the lineage. Come to think of it I've driven every gen. except 5th. Any 5th gen. owners wanna let me take a spin??? (hehehehe)

Like most everyone else, I've driven three:

1995 GXE rental car, which prompted me to buy our 1996 GXE, and now my 2000 GXE. I'd love to have an SE, but this is 90% my wife's car for hauling kids and groceries, so she didn't want to spend the extra $$ for the sporty goodies.

I've driven in a 4th gen (stick) and my 5th gen (auto). I think they were both nice, and the more I think about it I probably should've gotten a 5th gen manual Both were very nice though.

The 98 feels more sporty because of the SE suspension but the 2k is WHOLE LOT FASTER!!

Talked my parents to buy a 98 GXE for my mom.
Talked my brother into buying a 99SE.

Wow, you guys/gals been in a lot of Maximas. For me, other than mine own, I haven't really driven anyone else's Maxima. I driven sinewave's '95 Maxima GLE auto once and ridden in mardigrasmax's '98 5spd. Maxima GXE a few times. And I have a SE, so we three cover all 3 model type. So, unlike you all, I haven't been in many Maximas other than mine own. I'm not complaining though, I more than happy just driving mine.

if your 98 is an auto and the 2k is a 5-speed..than this is true....but if it's the other way around or if they both have the same tranny.....think again.....

my opinion the best ofcourse is the 97 5spd
but the new 2001s are sooo quiet they have pop out video screens in the center console (so do the Sentras in Asia)
