how do you know your coils are bad?
help help
how do you test if one of your coils are bad instead of changing all 6?
they cost a lot of pesos each piece. obd scan said cyl 4,5,6 are missfiring and car running too lean!
i tried changing sparkplugs, dry gas, cevron fuel injector cleaner but no luck. check engine light still comes on!
thanks

Disconnect the coil. Check the resistance between the center pin and the pin to the right of it. This would be if you have the tab used to lock the connectors pointing up. The resistance should be greater than 0 Ohms. If it is 0 Ohms, then it is bad. This procedure is directly from the FSM. If you want to fix this yourself, then you should take a look at the FSM and follow the procedure in there to determine what the actual problem is. There are a lot of other things it could be. It could be an O2 sensor or the ecu or the fuel pump or a bunch of other things. People just tend to blame the coils because of the known problems with them.
