First Time Racing: RESULTS

Well, theBlue and I went out to NYIRP tonight for "test and tune" night. $10 all you can run!

Well, this was my first time out, and I don't think I did that bad. My goal for the night was a 14.9, and I accomplished that on my first run.

My best time was a 14.74. Not bad.

Check out my times: http://www.rit.edu/~ejj5875/maxima/i....TimeSlips.htm

I did all runs with my 17" Konigs, everything in the car, and quarter tank of gas.

We ran into a really cool Infinity Mechanic from Rochester ( where we are from ) that gave us a tip. He told us to unplug a certin hose (I think he called it something like the fuel pressure regulator) and that would provide the engine with more fuel. I'll take a pic of it tomorrow so you guys know what I'm talking about.

Anyways, theBlue and I both did it, and we both had our best runs!

There weren't many challenging cars there...a bunch of 15.5+ Camros, a 15.5 89ish Civic with a Si motor, a 15.3 SHO, and a 16.5 Kia with a 3" tach!

All in all, it was a good time!

You do realize what you just did! You BETTER figure out which hose it is cuz EVERYONE is going to hunt you down until they find out I've never heard anyone talk about disconnecting anything. SWEET.

Sorry I couldn't make it. I spent the better part of 2 hours b!tching and cursing about how to get these z rims on.

I removed the hose that comes off my air box into the fenderwell and it inmproved my time by a few tenths. But I did not pull any times like that. My best was a 15.2 at 91 or 93mph I cant remember. What are the specs on your car, auto or 5-speed? And what kind of tires are you running. Good traction abviously! I have mever heard of a factory max pullingtimes anywhere near this. Congrates.

Sorry got him confussed with theblue. If ejj587 has all thoses mods and theblue was right behind him with nothing but a catback, that is impressive.

Yeah, it was. Also, this was my first time, and his 3rd or something...

He got ahead of my in the first 60' all the time, but after that I would pull on him hard.

Usually after a few hundred feet I would be 1 car length behind, and end up beeting him by about a half a car.

So, with more work on my launches I should be able to break into the 14.6's. If I put the stock rim's back on I should be able to do that with no problem.
