Long Time, OG, I been here for ever Org Members Chime in !
General Maxima DiscussionThis a general area for Maxima discussions for all years. For more specific questions, visit one of the generation-specific forums.
How was your O2 sensor set-up again? Primaries & Secondaries?
You still driving the Pathfinder?
I moved from the Maxima's in 2016 when I picked up a new Frontier that got totaled in 2017. But with insurance, picked up a new 2017 which has been pretty well modded. Beyond cams and boost, not much else I could do to this truck's VQ40 engine wise. Even have the Transo HD2 kit. Goal in the next few years is to solid front axle swap. Really enjoying the off-roading with family and camping.
Lol 😆 long time.. there's a 3rd gen group on FB of your interested in reliving them.
Long time indeed!
haha nope. I got rid of Facebook 9 years ago. Just looking to reconnect. I talk to quite a few OGs still. Saw a thread where DanNY passed away last month. That was gut wrenching to see. I couldn’t even count the amount of endless hours he and I chatted and the times I shot up to his place in Queens. Ugh
Checking in as well. I miss my 4th gen. Cars of today aren’t as engaging. I miss the capabilities the 4th gen had all around: low 14 second quarter mile, 25mpg mixed, 2 full sized luggage in the trunk. 4 people inside. Sporty handling. There are very few vehicles today that can match or beat that all in one…
Hey, just wondering who has been here for a long time and who has been here since day one or close to it. Whats the history of this place, can anyone take us through the years of maxima.org.
In the beginning i wonder if there were only a handful of members, and did anyone think the forum would have grown to what it is today !! When did the org start anyways (19xx) ?
I have not been here long but since I have been here it would seem lately that some of the guys are selling cars in the 4th gen scheme of things and moving on, and at the same time new guys are coming along. I also see some guys going turbo which basically they move on to the turbo forum. There really is a huge world here at the org in 2005. And you can actually be a die hard part of the boards in your little niche but never come across or meet other people (example: 6th Gen Forum)
Again, any old school people around that can tell some stories of the old days and how things are different or has changed.
thanks

Haven't posted in years , miss the meet ups . Don't have a max anymore 😔.
Was sitting around bored tonight and decided to log into the good old maxima.org.
To my surprise my username and password still works. Damn I'm getting old.
Edit: I have none of those cars in my sig anymore. All long gone.

Those were the days!
I still have all of those plots, and my home brew dyno plot based per-gear acceleration curve calculator spreadsheets on a drive somewhere. Those were fun, mapping out how a 190hp 99 Maxima 5-speed could legitimately outrun a 260hp 02 Acura CL-S 5-speed auto. LOL
A lot of people were not very happy with me.
After we traded my wife's 2012 X5 for the Suburban, I drove that and she daily drove the 335i for the next 5 years. It had a really bad stretch for about 6 months at the end of 2023 and was in the shop every other month, so decided to get her a new car. Sticker shock on new car prices and didn't like some recent BMW design changes, so went for a CPO 2022 X5 which only had 4k miles on it! My Suburban was fantastic, but it was going to start rapidly turning into a massive money pit. Didn't really need all the space anymore, so decided to unload it at 97k while I still could, and picked up a CPO X7 just last month. Keeping the E93 as a spare/fun car. Still have that red RAV4 (bought back from my folks a few years ago), but that's getting sold to a used car place before Christmas.
It’s amazing how much this community has grown over the years! I haven’t been here since day one, but I’ve definitely noticed the changes—especially how the forums have evolved with new generations of cars and more specialized sections like the turbo forum. It’s cool to see both old-school members and fresh faces keeping the legacy of Maxima.org alive!
Sold my 6th gen back in 2017 but miss it whenever I see one go by. Looking back i should have kept it as it is a rare one to find or see now. Black 04 6spd with 6.5 gen conversion.
