Long Time, OG, I been here for ever Org Members Chime in !

God, I've been here since January of 2001. I even still DD my 1993 GXE. It's on it's third engine and third transmission, but they're so cheap nowadays to replace. It's painful to drive being that it's 21 years old, but if I had more garage space, I would have gotten rid of it ages ago. If Nissan makes good on the Nismo 8th gen, I see a new DD in my future.

Man its been a while, currently Dodge charger Daytona since 2007 love this ride, my 4th gen was sold around 2010 my partner has a 2002 nissan maxima that was sold from a family member recently.

No you're not old. I'm talking retirement age, like 10 years away from Warren Buffett. Though he's got money. I tend to think of older people as not enthusiastic about the driving experience. They just want to get from point A to point B. Then again my car has a CVT so the same could be said about me.

By the math and forum profile data, I'm old. By the Social Security payments that magically show up in the bank account each month, retired, even. And I still drive a Maxima (it's a 5MT 20AE, lots of fun to drive even though it's the oldest car we still own, and unfortunately needs a harmonic balancer before I drive it next). I've got a track day coming up this Saturday, and I wish it were possible for you to sit right seat with me for a 20 minute session at speed around NJMP's Thunderbolt course.

I still come here once in a while. Loved the Org. Even made friends that remained friends long after I sold my car and moved on.
It is what you make of it. Like anything, the more you put in, the more you get out.
No, wait...

IIRC, I met you once at an auto-x event at Ripken Stadium in MD, I think you were running a Mazda 6 at the time? All I remember is it wasn't a Maxima, but still a 4-door sedan. I was just there to watch and take pictures.

It's been a while, but I do remember. Wasn't irish44 there as well?
The Mazda now belongs to my granddaughter, and the crank pulley bolt on the Maxima is still defying all efforts at removal. The weather hasn't helped.
Heat stress issues basically chased me out of autocross, but I've picked up a track day habit in the Mustang during the spring and fall seasons. Even got out to a late December event when the weather promised to get up into the 50's. Going into this, I can say that the autocross experience was well worth it, as I'm not getting run down and passed by everybody else in the run group, and NJMP has bumped me up into the advanced/instructor group.

Hauoli Makahiki Hou!
I was always jealous that I could not meet up at MAXUS because I was stuck in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. Now that I'm in the midwest, do we still have MAXUS events?! kekekekeke

So who has been an org member the longest and still has the Maxima they had when they signed up? Unfortunately, I do not have my '96 Maxi that I had when I signed up in 2001 but it is still in the family (still going strong at 280,000 miles).
But, of course, still enjoying my '99 purchased in '07.

I joined here in July of 2001. We still have the Maxima that we took delivery of in March of that year (there was a "March Madness" promotion going on at the dealership at the time).
At 14 years old, it's now the 3rd car for the two of us, but it's still fun to drive. It's been pretty busy lately as a loaner to other family members when their cars have been in the shop.

Checking in. Maxima has been getting neglected for while. Kinda getting back into it a little as a clean it up for my daughter just getting her license. Still, most of the time these days I spend at Mustang6. Looking to jump into a Mustang soon and maybe join Norm Peterson at one of those road track days.

love that this thread is still going....It's been 16 years...no wait, even longer because this is NOT the ORIGINAL Maxima.org forum! This is the 2nd one. I was a member of the ORIGINAL site in 1997. THAT is what popped my car forum cherry
