I was heading home on Rt 28 in Randolph when I noticed a modded Audi(body kit, rims, lowered, exhaust) up ahead, so I did my best to catch up. Before I had pulled even along side him he decides to gun it to try and get a jump on me. As soon as I heard his exhaust I downshifted to 2nd gear and floored my car Vrooom Bye Bye. I then slowed down to wait for him, he pulled up alongside me and his girlfriend gave me a thumbs up. I asked him was his car a turbo and he said yes. Next we raced again on a rolling start and again no match for the Max. so I turned into my street and headed home. Another Victory for the Max.

Are you really suprised that you beat it. Even it it had an APR chip (50 hp) and APR exhasut (20 hp at most). That's like 220hp, plus it was most likey quattro, so it is expected that you would win, if driving capabilities were equal.

 

Well usually when you run into a modded car you really dont know what they have under the hood especially on a turbo car. Now why is it that he could have only a chip and exhaust? Do remember with turbo's it's not that hard to add a boost controller to see some noticeable power increases.

 

I like to do the same thing. I see tons of A4's with exhausts and such in my area. It seems like they see me in their rearview and think they can beat me.
I actually raced one guy in a chipped 2.8 A4 5spd that was actually able to stay 1/4 ahead of me from 0 - 30. Once I hit second gear it was all over. A chipped 2.8 A4 with a 5spd can pull one helluva holeshot, even on me.

feel free to correct me if im wrong, but A4 1.8Ts have 170 hp not 150 like the Bettle and Jetta and such, so thats 240 hp if he has the 50HP chip and 20 HP exhaust... and who knows what other mods he has. sweet kill bottle... you should have given his girlfriend an air-kiss, unless she was ugly lol.

The 2001 A4 has 170. I didn't know that. 2000 and below has 150.

 

looks like we were both right and wrong at the same time...i was under the impression that all A4 1.8Ts had 170 hp... heh go figure...
