Holy Hotspots Batman, crappy LEDs

I bought 194 WHITE Oval Wide Angle Lenses LEDs from:
http://autolumination.com/194.htm

And they freaking suck. I figured wide angle leds would shine a wide beam but apparently not

It was a huge waste of money and know I need to buy some new 194 LEDs, which ones should I get?

Wow, that's bad. I got the cheap ones from www.superbrightleds.com. Mine are blue and are very even but wish they were a bit brighter. They are about stock brightness. I was thinking of trying the white leds. More of a stock look, I kind of miss it. Anyway they are less than a buck each I think.

I think the ones with multiple leds, while brighter, are more prone to hotspots.

The LEDs have been in my room for a few months now, I never installed them because I need hte clips that hold the black guage peice around the cluster in.

Should I get these from www.superbrightleds.com?:
These 12 Volt Super Bright LED bulbs will replace T3-1/4 (#194/168) filament bulbs found in many automobile and water craft applications. Inverted cone clear lens causes the light to emit from the sides as well as the end.
Or which one should I get? http://www.superbrightleds.com/1157.htm
I want the entire guage cluster to be bright and lit w/ minimum amount of hot spots.

why dont you take them out and sand them, so theyll spread light better? not that leds are expensive, but whats the point of buying something you already have?

I don't think sanding them will make the light spread out better.

It looks like that, there is not much to sand.

Those are inverted LEDs, I am going to buy those, no hot spots. I will put 2 of my leds in the doors and other 3 in various places around the car

98-99 guys, do not get the #74 bulbs! They are horrible....convert to 194 or use a custom LED setup

if you want even fill on your gauges buy the 194 bulbs from www.superbrightleds.com get the ones that have 6mini led's on them, they are the largest and brightest you can fit into a 95-96 housing.
