My speedometer pegs to the max most of the time now which in turn causes my odometer not to work. I heard there was a way to test the speed sensor on my 90 GXE to see if that is the problem, but I don't know how. My Haynes manual is no help. It is located by the oil filter. Any help out there? Thanks.

Well i believe you can check the ->

Voltage on the speed sensor with a volt meter to see how much voltage it is giving. But you need to look in the FSM to see how much voltage it gives for a given mph. THen when you find that out you can adjust the speed sensor.
