replacing brake lines

replacing brake lines

in an attempt to put on my new ss brake lines i ran into a roblem, i cant break the olds ones loose i beieve its a 10mm nut i have to spin but its not doing anything but twisting. i cant get it to break loose, how did u guys get urs free?

i tried that, i got a new can just for this project, still nothing

Are you using a regular open ended wrench, or a flare wrench?

flare nut wrench

and try and turn the stock brake line(rubber) and NOT the metal hard line

its much easier to strip the bolt on the hard line than the bolt on the rubber lines

be carefull or you will do what i did and strip the nut on teh hardline. now i have to go order a new hardline.

Dam another deal i need to buy, I assume you can't fit a 10mm 1/4 socket drive in there?

not unless you cut the end of the hard line off.

just buy the 10mm flare nut wrench. they're like $5 at Sears.
I have a 17mm one for oxygen sensors too. it's saved my **** a couple times on customer cars.
