Grandmother Diagnosis With cancer
hey guys. I know this isnt the right section. if a mod wants to remove it feel free.
My grandmother, Barbara Walters(not the tv host) was just diagnosis with the second stage of breast cancer. the reason for this post is to ask you all to say a pray for her or to add her to the pray list at church. anything little will be greatly appricated. Her breast will have to be removed and then she will have to go through kemo. My mother is worried she will lose her hair.
If anyone has gone through this with a family member or close friend i would greatly appricate if you told me about you experience. my mom looks for the worse in everything and so does my grandmother. Im looking for some personal experience that i can share with them. anyways just say a small prayer for her to night. Thanks
-Sean
i will except SMALL donation through paypal. im not asking for money. its all up to you. The money will be used for the medical expenses such as kemo and surgery. my family would greatly appricate it. Please say a prayer for her tonight. my paypal: sean@strawsburg.com
thanks again

I can also relate, my girls aunt was just diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer and it has migrated up to her stomach. She just had surgery and is not expected to survive more than five more years. She will also be going through Kemo. She is also located in FL. and went to the best cancer hospital there. I wish you the best of luck with your family.

I can relate too, just wait, you've only just begun, you have a long road ahead ... Finding a donor/100 day recovery, try that when a hurricane hits MD anderson in H-town in the middle of treatment.
.. Heck, I just don't look at anyone here as close enough as to let them know my buisness. But that's just me ... I have a few emotional 'items' I've brought up, but they're n/m.. Sorry ....

I'll remember to keep her in my prayers. My Great Grandmother had breast cancer and went on to live a long time after she recovered. My cousin was just diagnosed with it this summer so she is going in for treatment soon. Its amazing how common this disease is.
Hope all goes well.

Yup, this sounds all too familiar. My former boss's wife (maybe that sounds a little removed from me, but we are really close) found out that they couldn't have children. After finding a surrogate and all that, they now found out that she has breast cancer. Long story short: through kemo, surgery (both to remove her breasts, and to get new ones), and everything else along with losing her hair, she was able to survive and live happily; for a while that is.
They planned to move closer to the BMW dealership my former boss works at, and not more than a few months before they moved, and after they found another surrogate for their future child (which if you don't know, is an extrememly difficult and expensive process), she was re-diagnosed with breast cancer, and is now in treatment once again.
I just realized what a terrible story this is to post for inspiration, but I feel like having it read anyways. With the love and support of your family, it is no doubt that she will get through this, just like the woman I knew did. It will be hard, but it is very feasible to beat this kind of cancer. My prayers are with your grandmother and family.

thank all of your for your support and kind words. She is scheduled for surgery on the 11th of Oct. She has a 80% chance of getting rid of the cancer totally. She will also be getting kemo. thank all of you again

My sympathies. I've been through it with my own now deceased grandmother.
What kind of breast cancer? By second stage do you mean that it has spread to the lymph nodes? Hopefully it has not metastasized to the rest of her body. If not, she has a chance with chemo.
She will most likely lose her hair. She WILL have nausea, vomiting, fatigue. Chemo sucks but necessary. Prepare for it so you're not surprised. Good luck.
again, my sympathies.
