Groaning noise coming from....

the left front wheel area, and its only happening when I'm creeping out of first gear...any thoughts on what it could be? it sounds like something is grinding..but I can't place my finger on it....I figure I'd get the car on jack stands and try to figure it out later, but thought to post...someone might have experience.

Either the bearing...or you have a caliper that is sticking. Does the car pull to the left?

It may be a caliper sticking as it comes and goes and sounds related to the rotor/brake assembly...gonna investigate more when I get a chance.

could be one of many things. would look at wheel bearings first if you think it's in the brake area.

do you have a LTB or do any control arm work recently?
I often see the control arm bolts come loose a bit after people install an LTB on their cars.. you will wind up getting creaking and popping noises from the front end when this happens.

Matt,

I haven't done any work in that area...the last thing I did was put on new brake pads...but this is a recent thing, it may be the wheel bearings....its just not a good time if it is.
