Stolen '97

Fellow maxima members, I'm appealing to you for your help. My '97 was stolen from the front of my house this morning. I'm asking you all to give me a heads up if you see it anywhere...then again I don't really know if I want it back if you know what I mean. It's hard to drive it after it's been violated. You will find a picture of it on my home page. The only difference is it has the stillen front lip and a set of '04 350z wheels. The sad thing about it is I just did an oil change, radiator flush and topped it off with gas yesterday...so the bastards would be ready to pick it up. If someone could tell me how to post pictures then I would post some new ones. Thanks!

Sorry to hear that man, but are you in Long Island like your profile says or Orlando like your cardomain site says?

Edit: Just read the your thread in the 4th gen section. Nevermind.

Yea jeff92se just had his 3rd gen stolen and he found it a few days later missing the 350 track rims and a few complimentry dents on it hope it goes well man. People are really singling our maximas out in the crowd.

I didn't realize that these maximas were on the hot list. I know I see a lot of them around the place but you figure the more you see the least likely they would want to take mine. Inspite of all that, I'm still getting back a maxima...4th or 5th gen.

Spadez911, if you see this thread, I'd appreciate it if you could keep a look out for it for me...thanks.

call me crazy, i think i saw that car today in south plainfield. I was doing a system for another .org member, and i heard this car coming down the street, sounded like a VQ, and when i saw it, it was black, with 17" rims, not sure if they were 350z, they were moving too fast, but it also had red/clears. I don't know if it helps, but i wouldve stopped him if i knew earlier.

Thanks tavarish. If you see it again let me know. My car was black with beige cloth interior. Distinguishing features; had the donnely black auto dimming/compass rear view mirror attached to the windsheild, 18" 350z wheels, red/clears tail, 35% tints, and of course Florida plates. The drivers side fog light has rust/watermark at the bottom of it. there is a slight dent on the rear quarter panel between the wheel and the back door. You would hear the injen coldair intake and y-pipe when it opens up.

Funny you should say that...the police caled to tell me they found the car in Queens. It's being held in one of those body shop. Now, why is your car always being held in some body/collision shop and not at the police impound. We know for a fact that if there was anything left on the car worth taking, their going to take what they want. The other thing is I cant get to see it until Monday

in the 5 boroughs there is a what's called a DARP, it's Disabled Auto Recovery Program. pretty much any car that's abandoned gets picked up by a tow company that is on the police list. the impound is reserved for dwi's, fatalities etc................

hope everything works out with the car.

Thanks for the info. I didn't know about DARP. I'm anxious to see what condition it's in tomorrow.

First thing first...I would like to thank everyone for the great concern you've all shown...it's really appreciated. Second, my car was found. I got a call from the police saying it's in Fresh Meadows, Queens, now I'm not sure if that's where they found it(mostly likely) but it was being held at a collision shop in that area. Surprisingly the wheels were still on it only because they damaged two of the on e side, they damaged the radio trying to trying to get it out with no luck, took off my stillen lip, broke the fogs and damaged the bumper in the front, sounds like they hit some serious holes or something because there is rattling and squeaking sound coming from the rear end, and they just trashed the inside. So all in all, the only thing useful to them was the stillen lip, an equalizer that was under the radio, and some cd's that was in the car. I think I made out pretty good though. They tried to take the injen cold air intake, but for some reason they left it alone. Once the insurance adjuster sees it, I will be able to get a better idea of any other damages. As soon as it's fixed I'm selling it (still thinking about it).
