Speeding in a crowded parking lot with people in it, is one the absolute worst automotive crimes a person can do...tantamount to murder. What is the speed limit in a parking lot 5mph? 10mph?

No pity - JUST WHAT THE F**K ARE YOU DOING 50MPH FOR?

STUPID ***!

this is why they should raise the age for getting drivers license. I have read and seen to many stories like these. Kid goes out joy riding and kills himself or someone else.
Sorry to hear what happened but live and learn

That is the one point I don't agree with, in Florida when I was 15 you could get your learner's permit. Obviously you had to have a licensed 18-year old in the car, but usually it was one of your parents. Back then they also let you drive any motocycle up to 125cc with only a learner's permit, I think they changed that.
Anyway, the kids who are going to go out joyriding are going to go out joyriding at whatever age you put the age at. It's not like all the streetracers that are killed are under 25, or even 30 for that matter. Age in this case has nothing to do with it, it's mostly about responsibility and whether you can handle it.
The kids I saw wait, for whatever reason, and not get their learner's until later are consistently drivers I don't feel as comfortable with (when I lived there).
To be honest, I think if you get a kid riding a go kart or something when he's 8 or 9 occasionally at least he will develop the basic skills he needs whether he's responsible enough or not.
Also if you can get the joyriding kids at the actual drag strip or auto-x, track day or whatever, he can get that need for speed out of him in a much safer way, and he probably won't be as likely to joyride (an unfounded theory, I know, but it works for me).

I have zero sympathy for that stupid driver. 2 nights ago i was hit in a parking lot, by a kid doing 30, I had the right of way and the lot was pure ice, that ******* totalled my turbo 240. I'm just lucky i wasn't hurt by someone elses stupid actions. He is also damn lucky he didnt hit those kids that ran out in front, because he deffinitly would have killed them.
