How dangerous would it be to ride on washers until my spacer comes in?

How dangerous would it be to ride on washers until my spacer comes in?

Installing my BBK right now and I need 5mm spacers for the wheels to clear the calipers. How dangerous would it be to ride with 2 washers on each stud until the 5mm spacers come in? It would only be for 5days and less then 100-200 miles. My old brakes are shot to hell and I really dont want to use them anymore.

I would not consider it safe. Considering that washers are not hubcentric and not safe at all.

I would say don't do it. Your brakes are ruined anyway, why chance it?

The center of the hub still sticks out even with the spacers there so the hub on the wheel is still centered.

I think flavor did for a short time while he waited for his 5mm spacers to come it. He had a pic and the wheel looked to be about 1mm away from the Z calipers.

Dont hit a bump and slap your new calipers clean off

think of it this way:

the 5mm spacer IS NOT hubcentric. also you dont need longer studs even though they are recommended.

you just need to make sure the wheel sits flush to avoid vibrations.
