Seeing the new 2002 max statistics at the max.org webpage intro made some ideas pop into my head for making the max go faster .. Some of these include:

Dropping the 3.5 260hp engine into a 4th, or 5th gen... Anyone know if this could be possible?

Dropping a supercharged version of the 3.5 engine into a 4th or 5th gen. Oof, your tranmission would hate you, but boy it'd be fun while it lasted.

How much bigger is the 3.5 than the current 3 litre? Anyone think a 4th or 5th gen hybrid is a possibility?

i bet the engine mounts are still the same and the dimensions are too for the 5th and the 5.5th gen maxima. and i hear the engine mounts are close if not the same. i wouldn't try to put it in a 4th gen though. the intake manifold is too high.

We know little about the car still. Ask when it comes out and someone has actually looked in the engine bay.

buy a new car, a bmw 330 or something if you want more fun then the supercharged 3.5VQ, leave the maxima's automatic tranmission alone
