installing mirror covers

I just got come mirror covers for my maxima. What do you guys suggest as the best way to put them on? I know I can use double sided tape but I think that will leave too much of a gap so I'd prefer not to. So I was wondering if you had any suggestions. I'm possibly thinking of using some sort of gel adhesive (I believe it's high viscosity) but I don't know if this would be a good avenue. So again I'm looking for suggestions.

They are just Carbon Fiber mirror covers. If you still want pics I will take some when I get home.

alright I can do that. I'll take pics before installing them and then after. I'll probably get a chance to post them either thursday or friday.

if you were to use super glue, it would work better if you roughed up the paint first but then there's no going back. In for pics.

I was not thinking of super glue but maybe something like a silicone adhesive. In this way I would think I would get the best fit. And whille you're right about the no going back, wouldn't the same be true for the tape? I would think you might crack the carbon fiber before getting the tape to separate. We'll see. I'll be putting them on when I get off of work today.

Use double sided tape, that's what I used to put my cf miror covers on. It does not create a gap at all.

yea, i would think the tape would be fine. the foam really isn't all that thick, or dense. it can be flattened out pretty well. make sure to test fit them first as well.

Double sided tape will be able to come off with some heat and a little persuasion, superglue wont, silicone adhesive might, not sure

same here with the pics. If you go to the properties of each X and cut and paste the locations you'll be able to see the pics.

hacim105, those look awesome! Looks very well made! Where did you get them and what was the cost? My drivers' side mirror is fawked because of some dumb bicylist.

Stupid cardomain.com sucks. Is there a better free website to host pics?

Well the covers costed me $80 from IonicDynamics. But I got a cheaper price because I bought the CF lip kit with it. I think normally they are either $100 or $120.

You may have to call them, and the 300ZX CF mirrors aren't just covers, they are the actual housing. That's why they cost $325.

Yeah, except I'm not going with the hood the trunk and the spoiler. Once I get CF door pillars I'm done with my CF stuff.
