Weird things at DEALER

Was at the dealer today changing Drive Belts, Oil and FSB Links. Total $257. Not bad., love the dealer. Of course I had to ***** like a baby.

Anyways., two interesting things I thought were interesting.
My Nissan Dealer is using a Mazda 6 as the courtesy ride. Weird NO.

I changed my OIL and they used Mobil and that is all they use... Do all Nissan Dealers use Mobil? Or is my Mazda driving dealer just weird.

The weirdest part is that you got all that done at a reasonable price and you left somewhat happy.

I'm just glad I have a good friend with his own auto shop.

^^^My Englist teacher would kill you.

But yes, it seems strange that a Nissan dealer would be advertising to customers a different car company. Does the owner of the Nissan dealership own a Mazda dealership also?

A lot of times they just run you around in whatever used rig is on the lot and has gas in it. Some dealers have a special vehicle like a minvan with their logos on the side that is actually courtesy shuttle, but not all. I think of the four dealerships in my town, only two have dedicated shuttles.

My Nissan dealer is also a Ford dealer, so when they change the oil in my wife's QX4, they use Motorcraft oil in it. The QX4 is a PITA to change the oil and the service manager is a friend of my dad's so I just go in there and waste the $20.

I got my rims and tires for less than that. Is 257 a good price for 3 items?

No dealership is required to use any one brand of oil. We used to have Castrol products here and just switched to Mobil. I'm sure the Mazda was a trade in that they got for a steal, and decided to use it for a while as a courtesy then sell it later for a profit. Why waste a good car like a Nissan for a courtesy.

I would be happy if I could get all of that done at the dealer for under $300, but I can't. Thats why I work on my own car. You are lucky to get any car as a loaner. Around here they drop you off and pick you up in a min van, and give you a $500 bill when you get there.
