Could This be the 7th gen mule

Could nissan be really dumb to pull in another car when the maxima is already suffering sales or could this be a 7th gen mule

Is that a nearly proper rear end!

My bet is, CVT only.

I never liked the Teana. Maybe they are just checking out some suspension parts on our crappy American highways. The Teana is smaller than the Max so for the Max to stay lead dog it would have to be bigger than the Altima. I know that the sheetmetal will have to change from the Teana, it is horrible.

I wish these threads would die. Nothing better for people to do than sit around and speculate. Post something when someone actually has some real news.

don't post or subcribe to such threads if they bother you to that extent.

It looks about as attractive, and similar to, a Ford 500. That isnt a test mule, its the current overseas 6th gen.

There are two possiblity what Nissan has behind with that test car. It could be the next generation Maxima or it could be the car replacing the Maxima name. It can be very probable since Maxima name has been around for 25 years now. Can you believe it, 2-5 YEARS! So my gut instinct tells me it's going to replace the Maxima name. My 5 gen is here to stay, and I have to run out to get the 6th Gen before the 7th gets here.

i would be happy if they took the 6.5gen max; fixed the saturn ion rear(yeah, all you 6th genners know it, they only polished a turd for the update) and put in a killer 6sp auto AT LEAST to give us something other than a CVT; or, even cheaper, take the new HR variant of the VQ setup on the altima; tuned it up another 10-15 ponies, and slapped it in underneath. oh yeah, someone tell them to stop cheaping out and leave that extra 1mm of plastic on some of the panels that made the 5.5gen feel nicer than the 6th gen. PLEASE? Last note; put the maxima on a diet for the love of god. 3,200lbs was fine, and i realize there's now an IRS, but at least comprimise and get it to at least 3,300

The Teanna came out before the 6th gen did, I highly doubt they would release the car here.

The future car market is doomed if this crap keeps spewing. It's like a mutated ugly combination of nissan, lexus, and benz.

I wonder why Nissan did not leave a 5/6 speed automatic with an optional 6MT in the SE and a CVT in the SL, (same for the Altima) then they would clearly see how the CVT sells, I know several people who passed on the Murano cause of the CVT
