Any way we can use a Laptop to program any specs for our Maxs?

Such as, fuel Curve, Timing, etc. I think that would be very cool. Thanks.

Heheh....not too much. Seriously, though, I know its possible to control the NOS from a laptop(Venom System), but is it possible to control the ECU or maybe there's and advanced (S-AFC like) system that can run on a laptop....?

I'd like to hook up my laptop to my ECU as well just because I'd like to poke around (probably blow up the car).

Actually...

Yes you can... with a TEC II elcromotive (Spelling?) Computer...It is programmable vial laptop. My friend with a Turbo Miata swears by it and has been trying to get me to buy one to complement the SC... I don't like that idea though, too many variables that would more than likely amount to me blowing something up.

Are there any better ideas out there? Would I be better off having the ECU chipped, and getting a S-AFC? I want to get the AFC anyways, because I like the way they look...hehe

Laptop

What happen when your Laptop freeze? Like any typical computer it will happen, so will your ECU freeze too? Your car freeze, you freeze, the whole traffic freeze. What happen when you accidentally insert the virus?
I hope I'm in the same topic here cuz I don't want to sound like out of this world.....<Look who's talking...

Well, usually, the program you choose is downloaded to the controller, which interfaces with the ECU. I'm sure there are some kind of safety precautions...at least I would hope.

well yeah, for $1,700 he better swear by it, but I don't know, getting one of these things plus NOS would be kinda nice

Ignition coils?

I just checked out the website for the TEC II computer. Its an ignition computer more that anything. It does do some fuel controlling, but for that I want to get the Apex- S-AFC anyways. There's gotta be a better system out there.

Nevertheless, if we are talking about the little electronic controller like the AFC rather than the typical laptopthen it's OK. That laptop better works perfectly, consistent, reliable otherwise...woooh!!
