The wheel stud is only $2 or $3 dollars. Pretty simple to replace. Just remove wheel, caliper and rotor and using a hammer or mallet knock broken stud out of hub and insert new one and tighten making sure to use a couple of washers to tighten the nut and you're all done.

when i took my car to my mechanic to have him do my brakes, on one wheel the nuts wouldnt unscrew so we broke the studs trying to get it off... it was a pain because i had to walk like 23 blocks in queens to the dealer to get the studs, then i had to get new lugs because on my rims, the lugs arent wide so i bough a set of locks from nissan... then the key went over the lug so it wouldnt fit inside the wheel... so i took one lug off of the other wheel to make it 4 on each and i found a shop finally who had my lugs... and it was like 95 that day

NTB cross-threaded one of my studs, Goodyear charged me $5 to put in the new stud and they even drove the 2 miles to the Nissan dealer to get the part.

When you have the rotors off you hit the stud from the side that is facing you and it will fall out of the backside (towards the middle of the car). I hope that doesn't confuse you.

Fixing the broken stud:
for the stud @ dealer-$3
labor to have shop fix it-$15
time spent trying to repair myself-priceless

Problem was, didn't have a large enough hammer and they had an impact wrench...hence the fast repair.

Glad you got it fixed. I'm sure if you had tapped it a few times to dislodge it from any rust it would have fallen right out. And a good ol wrench would have been adequate enough to reseat the new stud but hey it's your $.
