I have a heavy foot and the couple time 87 was put in, my gas evaporates:wiggle

I also have a friend and his parents both drive 5.5 gen Maximas, his mom only fills it up with regular, she will not for the life of her use synthetic or premium gas and her engine is slightly louder and she fills up 3 times a week, his Dad only uses Premium and synthetic oil, he fills up once a week and they have the same driving styles, both cars are well kept but the mothers car seems sluggish especially during the summer heat
ummmm. maybey its the regular gas?

I burn the local Enmark 93 octane with 10% ethonal. It only costs me $4.00 more a tank but I think it is well worth it.

^ I have that sticker too

I just used a tank of 89 and did some good driving with it so I have a good feel of what 89 is, and today I just put in a half tank (i was on E w/ the light for a good amount of time) of 93 octane, the butt dyno hasn't really sensed a difference yet, but we'll see with some more driving.

My manual says 87 octane gas.... but the sticker in the gas door says use premium for better performance.... so i usually just get 89. I don't really notice a diff at all

haha every brand of car forum has this thread...I've done 87 for over 8 years in my 4th gen. It's fine! It's not a question of how many pennies difference it is between 87/89/91/93. I use super in the other car (93) even though the manual specifies 91 "HIGHLY RECOMMENDED." The other car, however, cannot use 87 as 89 is the minimum.

The owners manual for every make/model will always state the minimum AKI or RON. For the Maxima it's 87.

I usually do 87 or 89 but sometimes i do v power too (always shell). I can't say i notice much of a difference if any but I feel good about running the higher gas once in a while.

I normally do 89 and 91 once in a while. I try to stay with BP.

I have used Shell a few times and felt it gave me more gas mileage than BP. Is that just my illusion or can there be some reason behind it?

NOTHING but 91. Sadly, we dont get 93 octane in Cali or that would go in my car. Chevron if I feel like techron, Shell if i feel like V-Power. Nothing else goes into my car.
