Someone on this forum recommended fabricating shift and hand-brake boots from material obtained from a local fabric store. I decided to try this, for my boots were looking rather shoddy. I spent $3 for a yard of faux-leather material, sewed it as the original was sewn and now looks as good as new! Now, if i could only figure out how to replace that worn out leather steering wheel...

Pepboys carries a really nice leather steering wheel cover that you stitch on with supplied needle and thread. Total cost is around $15 and about 45 min to stitch it on.

I did the same a while back. I think I'm the one who told you to do taht, but I don't remember
Mine was pretty easy and apparantly yours was too; it's a lot better than having to buy new or aftermarket ones (especially when the aftermarket ones dont fit that well)

like whitemax said, get a stitchon one
I like teh wheelskins one; it's nicer than the other ones in general but costs a little more ($30 or so)

Where did you get the 'wheelskins one' from? does this replace the old one, or just go over the old one?

Do you have a picture of what it looks like on your car? Also is it sewn on also or how does it go on the wheel?

I don't have one on my max now; I had one on my 89GXE and it looked like new soft leather and felt nice too (makes the steering wheel a little wider and softer)

it has to be stiched on which is a pretty tedious process, but it's wortht the time (it includes the string and needle for you though)

those pics dont look that great on the website, but I really would recommend it

they have solid colors too so you don't have to get 2 tone
