Putting the two next to each other, and measuring the hot spots lumens output, the projector won hands down. The next test was actually driving on a set of these. Some people asked if it was a 240SX conversion, and we said its a custom projector set up. As night fell upon wonderful NYC, lights were turned on, and video camera was on dash to record all measured patterns. The light is so focused that it was hard to get adjustments for aiming properly. The stockers put more light on the floor, and covered the ground much better even if the lumens on the hot spot didn't come close to the level from the projector. Switching to HID, helped, but we figured on more than 80% were gonna go with Halogens, and that would defeat the true purpose of building something that you "seem" to lose coverage, and that was the major factor in developing an R33 Type set up that will be HID friendly, and provide the look on the street, and output on the floor needed. Have plenty of projects in the works, and a new intake concept, something different. Exhausts on the way, still getting the sound tests done and with different mods, so it comes out nice and mellow, w/ minimal rasp. Headlamp kits should be released when we get through the DOT tests.

-Yeah we go by the law, and you know how they work....
interesting... whatever man - just do what you gotta do =)

What projectors are you using? Did you end up using the H7 bulbs for the lowbeam? Was it as simple as transplanting the Audi headlamp projector units into a housing compatible with the Nissan/Koito headlamp? If you are able to design a good replacement headlamp that can match those E-code OE units on cars currently out there, you can count on me being on your list of initial customers.
