Ok, Its been a loonnngggg, looonngggg time since I've posted any updates on my project, so I will give you a peek of SOME of the lower plenum work.

The pics show the lower plenum in its final stages. The middle pic is the intake upside down (where the injectors open up into the plenum).

Since we are looking for maximum flow, we've opened up all passages about as much as we can. The plenums were shot-peened (kinda looks silvery), and honed (not extrude honed) out, port matched, and finally smoothed for optimum flow. All by hand. We will try to adapt this to a prototype upper plenum, similar to the new VQ35 intake set-up, or the Ford "Cobra" style intake runners.

Looks good Don. Can you actually port the upper piece?

Doesn't look like it's possible since it has alot curves. The upper piece will take more work.

So then your planning to bypass the idea of the 5th gen plenum and go for something even more boisterous? How much more do you expect to gain from using a different plenum? What do you see the biggest challenge being?

Looking Smooth...

Did DPR help you out with this? Or was this done in house?

Thanks for the awesome pix. Do you have before pix that we can compare with?

Looks good Don.

DO i hear group deal?

I wonder what power gains are expected. IF this can be done to most 4th gens, we can now not worry about the 2k2 max.

Do you have any specifics on the upper plenum prototype? Any pictures? How will it handle the higher RPMS?
