Is that normal? I know when I first installed my Apexi WS exhaust, there was a bit of smoke and smell. After installing the RT cat, I waited several hours before I took the car out for a spin. Anyway, when I came back, there was this burnt smell. When I look underneath, there was a bit of white smoke too. Also, could the burnt smell be coming from the RT sticker that I left on the cat? Tell me this is normal. I don't what to have another problem to worry about. Btw, I do notice a bit of power improvement, not too much though; maybe around 7-10hp.

Man i had the same exact problems. White smoke coming out of the apexi when i put that on (it was gasket smoke) and a burnt type of smell from the RT cat. i guess it was the sticker, because i dont get it anymore. You should be fine, i havent had any problems since. It sounds great with the Apexi catback doesnt it ? Nice GRRRRRR

Well, whatever the smell was, it's gone now. Yes, I do notice a bit of a difference in sound with the RT cat and Apexi exhaust combination. Also, the y-pipe figure in that too.

Btw, my friend and I did the install. No welding or whatever. The smell and white smoke are gone now. I think maybe it was the sticker. I got similiar smell and white smoke when I first got my Apexi exhaust. So, maybe it needed a break in period? Oh well, it's good now, so no complaints.

yes this smoke was due to the sticker on the Rt cat. I believe that even scc made a note of this in one of their mags

hahaha! you guys are too funny... wanted to keep that nice "Random Technology" sticker on the catalytic so some poor sap you run over can admire it as he's passing under?

Actually, I didn't think much of it. I never pay much attention to the manufacturer's sticker. It wasn't until I got the burnt smell and look underneath to realize the sticker was still on there. I usually take stickers off any products I bought, whether it's Stillen or whoever, I like the clean look better. I guess this was one time I overlooked that.
