I am in the market for some good aftermarket foglights. I currently have the piaa ultrawhite bulbs in my car, and yes, they are slightly better than stock, I feel that in certain areas, the lighting is so horrible that the lights don't help too much. I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on any brand --models? or what they have used that is good? The factory ones are kind of expensive--so I was thinking about a good pair of piaas?

btw, do the piaa's come with nice on/off switches? I hate those switches that look like they ought to be part of a wall and not on a car's dash...

thanks for any info

Re: good foglights

I have Piaa 1100x on my 97SE. Like yourself I found the factory lighting lacking. I have had good sucess with APC hyper-white bulbs in the factory headlights. I have also re-aimed the factory fogs and recently added APC hyper-whites to them as well. The PIAA's are a welcomed addition to late night travel as we in the northeast enter hunting season and the deer are moving around more than ever.

Look around in junkyards and you should be able to find OE fog light housings for dirt cheap. The addition of a PIAA H3 55 watt SW bulb will outshine your low beams. Mine are on all the time.. I feel naked w/o it LOL

my fogs

I got PIAA Solitaires w/the blue lenses. They are brighter then my PIAA superwhite bulbs and I like the way they look. They really stick out with my all dark front. Were pretty cheap at $130...You may not like the switch its a small black rectangle and u press the button in the middle, I don't mind it though it's almost invisible right next to the steering wheel.

piaas

I saw a pair of piaas last week when I took my car to my local guy to have the oil change. There was this 98 infiniti I30 --same color as my Maxima and they pretty much look identical, other than his "Infiniti" badge...well, I saw a pair of fog lights on his car--Piaas where the switch was not a flip switch (like those for the houselights on the wall), but was a long soft wire with switch at the end and you can drape it over the steering column...I thought those look pretty good...anyone have any idea about this?

thanks...

I am thinking about a pair of piaas --the 1200 model but they are about 170 -200...so I am waiting to see if I can get a good price somewhere.

good fog lighes?

Hella Micro DE...
go here
http://www.hella.com/shop/nebel/indexe.htm

Click around on the different type of fogs... check out the micro DE. By good I assume you want it to be functional... if that's right, you can go wrong with the DE.

The micros look pretty nice--and yes, I like to have a pair of lights that would be functional...that is my first concern...btw, would you know how much they'd cost anyway?

thanks for the info.

RE: good foglights

I got the Raybrig R1300(i think, can't remember, its too early) but i like 'em they're superwhite and i paid $200 and they're bright, i always get 'how come your foglights r brighter than ur headlights?' cuz the headlights suck, if it weren't illegal, i wouldn't use my headlights.

Re: Re: Shing

That is not a bad price for those lights. I think I will get a pair-- the damn headligths aren't that good and I know that in certain places that I drive (in Jersey), there aren't any sort of street lamps and it is hard to see the road ahead...

thanks for the info...

I'll give 'em a buzz.
