Is it just me or are there more Maxima misfortunes this month compared to any other time?
My accident happened on the 2nd... and then it seems like every other day I see posted stories of Maxima carjacks, vandals and near-accidents on the org. I thought I was the only one until Medic noticed the disturbing pattern. What's goin' on?

Well, if you think about it, August 2001 does have the dubious distinction of having a Monday the 13th! Hmmm...

I think the best thing we can all do to stay safe out there is to drive a little slower and be more alert. You can prevent accidents caused by your own inattentive driving, but you cannot prevent things such as the carelessness of other drivers, or whether your car gets stolen. So peeps, keep it real and enjoy the ride!

I know... I'm getting worried. Maybe I should rent a car for the remainder of the month.

Drive defensively, make wise decisions, keep your doors locked, and remember that your Maxima might be mean the world to you, but it isn't worth your life. I'd rather see that you got carjacked than never seeing you post again. Stay safe.

my sweet 95 SE (white) was totaled from behind in early July, I think it's just been a bad summer. Thank God I replaced it with a 96 GLE (pebble beige) w/new timing chain, complements of me.

I've hit a dog, got backed into, hit a buzzard and had a tire re-tread off an 18 wheeler hit the front of my car. Three of the four was last august.

Blew out two tires, causing a rim to crack..My struts blew out in the front, and my car is steering all over the place and no one knows what is going on with it...
Hell of a month...

Alright! Play around with the tuning, maybe you can tweek it to your taste more. Were you able to secure the mounting brackets?

add me to the list

my max was broken into for the second time in a month. That makes not only August a bad month but the third month in a row: someone hit me in June, it was broken into in July and again this month.

FYI, for those in the NY area: our beloved max is third on the list of most stolen. Do what you can but be smart

i had something bad happen toooo.......

but its not maxima related.

my dad just bougt my older brother an Acura Integra GS 4 Door and less than 10 minutes from the dealer we got rear ended. There was huge white bumper right in the middle of the highway (had construction with barricades on both sides, very narrow), we were on the right lane and the left lane had traffic coming so we couldn't dodge it so we had to slow down. the Tahoe behind us slowed down too, then i looked in the rearview and saw the Tahoe surge forward and hit us. A ford Tempo hit the Tahoe into us. Man the Tahoe was scratchless. I don't know how! the Tempo was f00ked. It had antifreeze going everywhere. Our spankin new integra had a bump not too deep and slightly bent trunk.

I saw a burgundy Maxima (3rd generation?) on I-5 North (in Washington state) today that was getting towed away because it was involved in an accident. It was around mile marker 180-185 or something. Sucky, sucky, sucky!
