I know you guys have probably heard these kinda questions a million times but here goes. I was thinking of getting Eibach springs and Koni shocks but have a couple of concerns. First, how harsh is the ride going to be? Is it really, really bad or just really bad? What's the best balanced solution as I don't intend to race constantly? I'm 26 and trying to get it out of my system Second, you have to do some cutting right? Is this difficult because God knows I don't want to **** anything up. I know this is all subjective, but I just wanted to hear some experienced opinions on the matter. Thanx.

Don't cut your springs. Short of Coilovers, Eibach/Koni is going to be your best bet. Try contacting other people in your area for rides with the Eibach's to see if they are going to be too harsh. If they are, then H&R's might be better for you, if they are still available.

It's all VERY subjective. I have 400lbs springs on my 2200lb CRX and I prefer that ride, I don't think it's harsh. Eibach with Konis won't be a bad ride, just a stiff as hell ride depending on adjustment to the struts. Why not go HR with konis? HRs are a little "smoother" than eibachs so you could do with those.

Thanks a million guys. BTW, how much do H&R's lower the car? They're cheaper than Koni's anyway, right? It seems a lot of people have the Eibach/Tokico setup here, but naturally heard varying opinions from "they're too floaty" to "they feel great". Wish I could afford some coilovers for their complete adjustability

Eibachs and H&R's are progressive springs they both lower the car 1.3" in the front and 1.5" in the back... They are $~199 for the Eibachs and are very good handlers but the ride may be harsh and $~209 for the H&R's and these are good handlers but the ride may be softer.

Koni's and Tokico's are shocks/struts the Koni's are adjustable and the Tokicos are not... They are $~440 for the Koni's and $~300 for the Tokico's

Please take a look at the thread I created:

Ra1max,

I installed Koni's with Eibachs about a couple of months ago. If you want to read about what's involved, I wrote tips and stuff in my webpage:

http://vbxmaxima.8m.com

It'll be under mods

Don't cut your springs, pay the $$ and do it the right way. It's crazy to save a few bucks and put up with a substandard ride as a result.
