I had a set of the XGT V4 put on my max to replace the stock goodyear RSA. I loved the handling and feel of the XGT V4 gave. I run my max alot on the highway and go about 26,000 miles a year. I noticed appreciable treadwear around 25,000 miles. The XGT V4 were good tires in the rain until they got down to about 20% of their tread. At that point the tires were terrible. They became hard and slick and it was difficult for me not to spin the tires taking off from a stop even when it was dry. I realize that when any tire gets to that point in treadwear that there will be a decrease in the performance of the tire. But I wasn't expecting such a sharp and dramatic decrease.

I think the XGT V4 are good tires but not for high mileage use. I wasn't willing to spend that kind of money again for a tire that I would use up in little over a year.

Well, here's my non-Michelin related post.

I recommend bridgestone potenza RE950. Good performance, good wear. Awesome in the rain...

Not too expensive either.

is it?!? I love my Potenza RE730s!! Is it true that this is the only tire with the "AA" Traction rating?? hehe...well it was when I first bought em! They're kinda noisy, but perfect tires otherwise! I've never chirped them before

My experience with the V4's has been a very short tread life. I am currently experimenting with some Dunlops right now. Hopefully they will last.
