I am looking at purchasing the Bridgestone Potenza RE950 for my stock 16'' rims. Anyone have any experience with them or know if they are good performance tires for All Season type and if they have good tread life?? I live in NYC so need some snow handling as well...

Also, should I go with stock size of 215/55/16 or 225/50/16, considering my car is not lowered is it worth it?
The prices are $99 and $109 respectively. Here is a link for tirerack: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/bridgestone/bs_re950.jsp

Any other suggestions for All Season tires for a decent price?

Any info appreciated.

I think since they're 400 AA they'll last as long as I have my car--the factory RS-A have lasted 52,000 so far and they're only 240 AA© Locally they want $122 for the RE950 but I can go to DE where there is no tax© That way, I'm only paying about $10-$14 more per tire when I'm all done, and I have a local warranty as opposed to dealing with mail-order© I plan on sticking with the stock 215/55-16©

I have them and I love them. I have them in a plus-zero size on my stock 15 inchers. They are 215/60-15. I had the RE930 before these. The 950s are incredible. They grip like you wouldnt believe. They have a nice ride, are relatively quiet too. The best part is the wet handling, there is no hydroplaning. I've had mine on for about 10000 miles including aver 30 1/4 mile runs and they barely even look worn.

Anyway, I like em a lot.
And they look really cool.

I was going to get these from a local Sears store, but they told me that they were on 2-9 week national backorder.

they are very nice tires. Before they were introudced, us sales guys were invited to test them on a wet/dry course aganist all our competitors. They were mounted on BMW 5 series and we could go as fast as we wanted in 2nd gear. They were really nice tires and we also got a chance to test out the UNI-T construction on the tires.

97GreenMax, i dont think they are on nation backorder cause i work for Firestone and we stock these and get them regularly.

which tire is quieter, RE730 or RE950? I know 730s are not all season, but still have super AA rated traction.
