ACT clutch- why not race puck?

Why does everybody recommend against using the 4 or 6 puck racing clutches from ACT? They are cheaper then the "MM" street version arent they?

because they kill the maxima transmission.. if you don't believe.. go buy one and find out

contact Mehran in DC ask him about his tranny and why he sold his SC..
ask phil.. ask thomas..

like i said.. i have argued this before.. so to anyone who wants it.. buy it and find out for yourself

Even completely ignoring the fact that they will rip apart your tranny, Those discs have VERY harsh engagement...not at all for street use. When the street setup can hold just about any amount of VQ HP that you can throw at it, why sacrafice everything else??

because most people have to feel before they can hear.. that clutch you got there buddy.. good for 400 hp.. great buy.. i am looking for one soon too

street disc: Torque Capacity: 362
4/6 puck: Torque Capacity: 463

well, looks like i'm 23 ft-lbs over the capacity

ever ride in a car with someone learning how to drive manual for the first time? That's how the 4 or 6 puck will engage LOL. There is no room for slipping; it'll either be on or off. You won't have to worry about the transmission internals all that much.
