I have a chance to go to the US and work.

Ok, I have a chance to go to the USA and work. Where should I go? I can choose from..
Texas, Okalahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, South and North Dakota, Arizona, Montana, Minnesota, Wyoming, Missouri, New Mexico.

And how much would it cost to buy a 5 speed max and send it to New Zealand?

Thanks

Arizona (Phoenix)

I recently moved to Texas and it aint that great It would be second for me on that list though. I don't like the hot humid weather and all of the huge rainstorms and the millions of bugs that you can't avoid. Crickets are horrible here in Dallas....I'm not quite used to all of the traffic yet either. I think its all growing on me though I've only been here 3 months so far....

I will be working on cropping, following the grain harvest. maybe running a header (combines as you guys over there call them, or driving a tractor or truck....

Apparently arizona has the best pay rate. $1800 minimum rate per month or 6.74 per hour, which ever is higher.

Dude get here first then think about what you are gonna be doing. I must say that this country has a lot of opportunities the only thing i would advice you not to do is jump into a plane and aim it at a building.

I have to choose before I go because the outfit that organises it will find me a job before I go.

I think the plane would get shot out of the sky if anyone on board even thought of it.

Yup. Some news reporters were talking to a couple of F-16 pilots that are patrolling the NYC area and they were asked if the same type of terrorist act could happen again and they both said, "Not while we are in the sky." I know what the F-16 can do and I believe them.

Go to Arizone if you can stand 115 degree heat. Calif is nice, but earthquakeville. I would chose New Mexico or Texas, its does not get super hot, or super cold in mid texas, and we have nice weather most of the year. Plus nice people mostly everywhere.

Artizone might have the best pay rate, but don't forget living costs. They are ALOT more expensive than Texas. Here in texas you can get a 3800 sq ft house for 130k.

Well I should say some parts of texas.

For the work I'd go to Nebraska or Kansas because I'm guessing the work you would be doing would make kansas a relative gold mine (when I drive from Indianapolis to Denver and I get past Kansas City sometimes the radio doesn't pick up any stations...NONE...nothing but fields).

If you're going for the locale, I'd choose Colorado with Arizona being a distant second.

IndyMax77

p.s. Kansas members: please don't take this as an insult...it's just anecdotal...plus, what do I know? I'm from Indiana...

When would you come here to work and how long would you stay. The weather will vary greatly between the states you listed. But America is great all over im sure where ever you choose to go you will have a great time. Hopefully you get a chance to travel a little when you get here so you dont only see that one area that you choose to work in. Good luck!

use them to come here.. then expand your horizons.. make big money big money

i would say AZ.. everywhere else is just so hicksville..

95 5spd Max would be $5000 with high mileage.. now you need to know how much tax your Gov is going to charge you to bring it home.. in Jamaica they charge 130% of the car's cost.. and they also charge by Cylinder amount

hey hey...

whats up with this "hicksville" stuff, i live in oklahoma, and it...well it isn't...ah hell, it is hicksville although i think that the cost of living is really low here, and the only place worth living in is Edmond(nice town north of oklahoma city), Tulsa is nice to, but here, in the south of oklahoma city, it kinda sucks, but i guess i got to used to living in a big city (Toronto)

Matt, I wouldn't be laughing too hard if I was you. Look at our state for example. Especially when MardiGras comes around, it's like a gathering for all the weirdos in our state. Let just say that when I go to Bourbon Street at MardiGras time, I try not to bend over.

Minnesota. But ya better hurry, or them crops will be frozen.
'97 5 spd Max is like $10,000 to $12,000 here. No idea about shipping, can't be worth it?

New Zealand just recently removed the tariffs on imported cars. I would only have to pay for shipping. And there is no such thing as a 5 speed in a maxima here.

Why don't you go the the A&E TV website? They have their Top 10 list of things like place to live, dogs, disasters, romantic location etc.
I found Houston to be a bit warm for my liking, and it stormed the few times that I was there. Personally I like the west coast cities.

Are you in AZ?

I'm in Mesa, and it is a great place to live.

The summers suck but the winters are great....

Any AZ Maxima owners here up to a little bit of friendly drag racing at Firebird with a little 'ol SHO???

Here's a pic of the ride at South Mountain, which is, you guessed it, south of Phoenix.

you be crazy
I've never been to NZ, but I would love to go.
Pictures I've seen are beautiful.

I don't have much experience with most of the states you listed.
What I've seen of Texas, I hated. And the others well... I wouldn't.
But Colorado is beautiful and so is Wyoming.
I'd go there - but mostly cause I like to ski.
Whatever, traveling is fun and this is one huge frigging country and every part of it has something of interest. Even the most hicked out parts have their own kind of beauty and intersting people to meet. Sounds like you don't plan on staying whever you go forever, so even if you end up not liking where you go it won't be so bad.
Plus you could get the Maxima of yer dreams.

Hawaii has the best chicks man...get it straight

I'd pick Colorado as my first choice, beautiful state. Wyoming is also nice, but not much over there. People over there were friendly, so not too many hicks over there (or maybe I have bad memory )
