car won't start!

My car won't start for some reason. I think it might be the battery. However, the battery I have is the Optima Yellow top battery. I thought this kind of battery will always start up? I turned the key to the ON position and I noticed my stereo won't work, so that means it's the battery, right? Also, when I had the key in ON position, the air bay light started to flash. I know that I could use jumper cables to start the car, but I'm afraid that if I go somewhere and turn the ignition off, the car wouldn't start again. So, what should I do?

Check your battery cables and make sure there tight mine once had that problem simple tightning down made it work...if that don't work then your gonna have to jump it and see if thats it but don't jump on that...the yellow top will not die it can be recharged and killed over and over and will just keep coming back.

Go out and buy a battery recharger

I bought one at my local Autozone for under $30. It recharged my dead stock battery in about 6 hours and gives a good readout.

Well, I can start my car again. I used my sister's car to jump start mine. I allowed extra time to the battery to recharge, just in case. Hopefully, I won't run into a dead battery problem any time soon. I wonder why the battery gave out? Hm...it started up fine on Thursday night, that was the last time I started the car before today. Oh well...another mystery I have no answer to.

Btw, does anyone know any good lightweight battery that has really cranking amp? I checked out this battery at Summit Racing made by Pro Volt. It has 1,100 cold cranking amps, plus it weighs only 33lbs, and cost $119.95. Good alternative to my Optima or just keep the Optima? Another thing about the Optima is it's really heavy.

I know what you mean about the optima being heavy I droped mine on my foot. But really the optima yellow top is one of the best out there. Plus you already droped alot of dough on it so why waste more.
